This is awesome. At first I was worried that someone was going to just rip the whole thing open and find
the phones,
but it actually worked so much better than I expected. The fact that he was able to use it so many times was just
awesome,
and
honestly a little sad that it actually
got stolen so many times.

I hate to be that guy, but I’m really disappointed that his police department D GAF. Isn’t it a federal crime to still someone’s mail? Look how many folks got caught on camera, yet his PD won’t do anything about it?
It kinda ruined the fun in the video knowing this.

Cops gonna cop.
Seriously though. My local PD a t least will look interested but if you don’t have a plate or a name they really don’t have the resources or time.

I think the ass spray helped the guy recover the package. Most people don’t want to take the time to disassemble
something that smells like a bag of ass.

Amazon must have a pretty good idea what percentage of deliveries are reported stolen. Curious what that number would be.
I use a UPS store for all shipments, which makes my life a lot easier.

I know my local UPS guy has a hot line to call if he sees something suspicious or someone is following him.
Used it twice in the last year resulting in one conviction of theft.

It’s the morning SSS (S**t, Shower, Shave) with more glitter!

Is UPS or Fed Ex covered as a federal crime similar to USPS? I’m assuming not, being it is a private entity. Still sucks they won’t go after the thief. Love this package idea though.
It would make a great saleable item for a lot of folks.

I also enjoy the shotgun shell method

Presumably only stealing from USPS/mailboxes. UPS/Fedex/etc. would just be normal theft.
Police should still look into it though.

Eventually we’ll find this guy holed up in a cabin in Montana, ranting on about the Glitterati and their control over the media.

Damn, I didnt know package theft was this common!

When I saw all the hardware inside, I thought he was an idiot for giving away free stuff. But that fart spray seems like a pretty effective way of getting thieves to toss the package.

Now my girlfriend gonna think I be cheating on her with strippers since they be so much glitter in ma car.

That fart spray stuff is brutal too.
Nasty nasty stuff.

No, it can be mail fraud under federal law even if it's UPS/FedEx/Amazon. The problem is that if the value of the item(s) is less than $900-$1000, it would be considered misdermeanor Petty theft at the local and state level. While I could see why any cop wouldn't want to prioritize their time with something of low financial value, it doesn't excuse them from not doing anything especially on the tax payers' dime.

Probably even more so in the enclosed cabin of a car lol.
![]() 12/18/2018 at 11:58 |

It’s about the total value. Most people aren’t shipping extremely valuable items. In Texas, it’s a misdemeanor if the theft is less than $1,500. They have bigger fish to fry.

There were 4 phones with gps in the box, so he just went to the gps location. The fart spray was the key to his success, the terrible smell got the th ie ves to ditch the package quickly and help preserve it for future use.
The phones also uploaded the video to the cloud so that in the event that he was unable to recover the package he’d still get the video (might have happened with the last thief who vacuumed the glitter).

Right, but he recovered it from someone’s garbage? So he dumpster dove? I’d like to see how he 007'n in.

If I recall that guy got in trouble for essentially creating an explosive device. Its what makes the glitter spinner so awesome.

Shoot, my car’s been shot, I’ve had a tenant that loved child porn, I’ve had my identity stolen numerous times, and gang members even once robbed me blind at a public beach . In every case, no matter how much proof I had all the cops gave me was a: ¯\_()_/¯
Really? You aren’t going to investigate child porn ?????
